“When 900 years old, you reach… Look as good, you will not.”

It’s been a long time coming, but Miya and I have finally acquired a new member of our technological family: a digital SLR! (single lens reflex) Specifically, after much research and exploration, we have brought home a Canon Rebel T2i with an 18-135mm kit lens. Both Miya and I engaged in art photography back in our high school days with old inherited Nikon 35mm SLRs (mine predated my birth), but photography fell by the wayside when college started. Digital SLRs were well outside our budgets, monetary or temporal, for several years, and we made do with suboptimal cell phone cameras and point-and-shoot digital cameras. Now, nearing the end of our first year of semi-reasonable salary making, we are embarking on a voyage to Paris with the intent to explore Parisian life away from the tourist attractions. What better way to explore the city of lights than with a capable camera and a reawakening of our love for photography?
