Maiden Voyage: First Taste

September 19, 2012 § Leave a comment

Tonight, I decided to bite the bullet and crack open a bottle of Maiden Voyage to taste the fruits of my first attempt at homebrewing. This batch was bottled on September 9, so it’s been conditioning for about 10 days. Cue the drum roll!

Day 10 of Conditioning

Appearance: Opaque, golden-brown, minimal carbonation

Smell: Very subtly of bananas (much more mellow than before)

Taste: Mildly sweet, wheat, mild marmalade undertones

Mouthfeel: Minimal carbonation at this point, medium body

Overall: A no-nonsense, medium-bodied wheat. TASTES LIKES BEER. OMG.

Raise your glass, brewmateys!

WE MADE BEER!
